The hotel Kobenzl is situated on the mountainside of the 1288 meters high mountain Gaisberg, the landmark mountain of Salzburg. Its characteristic shape shapes the skyline of Salzburg. From the Vitalhotel Kobenzl, which is situated at constitutional 730 meters above sea level you can enjoy a breath-taking view over the Salzburg basin, the city of Salzburg. Mighty mountains like the Untersberg, the Watzmann, the Hohe Göll and the impressive mountain range of the Hagen- and Tennenmountains form the frame around the city of Salzburg, whose lights shine like a precious diamond.
"The Gaisberg is despite it’s lankly height of 1288 meter an appreciated view-point, since it stands far in front of the high mountains in the pre-Alps. Southwards the sight reaches 80 km to the Großglockner and northwards 125 km to the Dreisesselberg in the Böhmerwald."
Clemens M. Hutter, 1998
Since 1929 a road reaches up to the 1288 meters high Gaisberg, which is especially favoured by convertible- drivers, bicycle-riders and vintage car drivers. The street is driveable year-round and even in the winter busy „brownies“ take care that or guests reach the hotel Kobenzl safely. In front of the hotel entrance the Gaisberg-Bus stops, which brings our guests to the centre of the city of Salzburg.
